For The Past 18 Years And 18 Hours, I Never Knew A Simple Day With The Label Of 'Birthday' Can Be So Meaningful. Previously, That Day Of Mine Passes By Every Year With Simple Meaningless Wishes 'Happy Birthday' Being Repeated Over And Over Again With A Simple Meaningless Cake Every Once In A While At The End Of The Day.
It's Been 3 Years Or So Since The Last Time I Ate A Birthday Cake Dedicated To Me, And For More Than 5 Years I've Not Looked Forward To Expecting Anything On The 17th Of November; And I Must Say, Thanks To Y'all, This Date Is No Longer One Of The Many Meaningless Days Among The 365 Days In The Year. Of Course, I Am Most Grateful Of The Choice I Made; That Is Having A Bunch Of Friends Studying In UTAR PJ, Which Is Where I Met More People Who Made This Day Even More Meaningful.
How It All Started?
Siew Wan Sent An SMS To Vingent About Planning A Surprise Party For Me, But Because She Spelled My Name Wrongly, He Didn't Know Who She Meant And Was Asking Around About The SMS. He Ended Up Passing The Phone To Maggie, Who Read The SMS Aloud, And Instantly I Knew What Was Going On.
Thinking The Plan Would Be Cancelled Because The Beans Were Spilled, I Just Lived Life Like Nothing Ever Happened. That Was On The 10th...
On The 16th, At Night When I Got Back To My 'Second Home' In PJ, The First Thing I Got Was A Cake In My Face. That Alone Meant A Whole Lot To Me, For None Of My Friends Ever Threw A Party To Celebrate My Birthday Before...
The Next Morning Totally Changed My Perspective Of A Birthday. Every Classmate Wished Me 'Happy Birthday' When We Walked Passed Each Other, Which Only Very Very Close Friends Did Before This. When I Reached Home, I Knew My Housemates Were Up To Something Thanks To The Living Room Being Empty When It's Not Supposed To, But I Never Expected Some Of My Classmates To Actually Be There To Surprise Me As Well. Seriously, You Guys Really Got Me Then.
It Was Also Fun On My Part To Get My Classmates And Housemates To Know Each Other; It Certainly Beats Describing Them To Each Other With Words. The Steamboat Was Awesome, And This Is By Far The Birthday Celebration With The Highest Budget Expenditure Without Financial Help From Parents From What I Can See, Though They Are Still Keen On Keeping The Amount Spent From Me.
Not Everything Went Well, However. Joshua's Car's Window Was Broken, And Vingent's Clothes Were Stolen, Along With Joshua's Thumb Drive, Student's ID And Some Other Stuff, Which, According To Him, Were Unimportant, Miscellaneous Items. Damn. Just When I Was Having Such A Great Time; Though Everyone Tells Me Not To, I Still Feel Guilty For Making Him Go Through Such An Ordeal For The Sake Of Celebrating My Birthday. I Swear If I Ever Find Out Who Did It, I'd Make Him/Her Go Through A Fate Far Worse Than Death With My Bare Hands; That's Payback For Robbing Me Of My Wings When I Was Just An Inch Away From Heaven.
That Accident Aside, Today Was Really A Day To Remember. Again, Thanks Y'all For Really Making My Day Today An Unforgettable One. I'm Really Happy, Grateful And Of Course, Proud To Have The Honour Of Calling You Guys 'Friends'. Infinite Thanks Again Guys!!! Appreciate It!!! For Once In My Life I Feel Like 'Maybe Ian Must Live On Instead'.
Thanks Again To The People Of 19, 17/21b Street & TB1 UTAR PJ Who Changed My Perspective Of 'Birthdays'. Love Y'all!!!
